How many subscribers are there per boat?

Modified on 2025-04-12

We don’t officially publish the number of subscribers per boat; simply because being a start-up, there is always the chance someone will see our service and replicate it. So while we establish the brand in NZ, we keep those numbers confidential. However, we understand that people might be worried about how often they can book the boats.

Skipperi started in Finland before moving to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, New Zealand and Canada. The system has been proven in these countries for over 3 to 4 years, and it is the same system we are implementing here in NZ. An average subscriber in Europe will use the boat two to three times per month (this is very dependent on the individual, though).

Of course, with any new service, at the beginning demand might be busier, but then things will taper off and become steady.

Our aim at Skipperi is for everyone to be able to enjoy boating, so our goal is not to have as many subscribers as possible, but instead, we want people to be able to use the boats as much as they can and enjoy the boating world, and the number of subscribers per boat reflects that aim.

Also, our booking system means you can only book two slots at a time, and you have to use the first slot before you can book another slot. This means we keep availability open for other subscribers.
